Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah

Bryce Canyon National Park is located in southwestern part of Utah about 200 miles south of Salt Lake City. That said, it sure doesn't look like it is in Utah.

Composed of thousands of pillars created by long time erosion of the rock, the scenery of Bryce Canyon looks more like something one would expect to find on Mars or in another Galaxy.

This impressive park can be viewed from the 'Bryce Amphitheater' or can be experienced by following one of the many trails that wind through the maze of colorful pillars.

Hotels near Bryce Canyon are located along the road that leads to the park entrance and in the small town of Panguitch, UT, about 20 miles to the east.

Staying overnight in the Bryce Canyon area is recommended to those seeking to hike in the park. Alternative accommodations are a long drive away.
